Cameras and Grip
Students on accredited courses receive training on cameras like the Sony Z90, Sony FX6, and Sony FX3. Those who choose to specialise also have access to the Arri Alexa Mini.
Students on non-accredited courses may work with the Sony Z90 and/or the Sony FS7.
All students have access to a variety of grip equipment, including flatbed dollies, skateboard dollies, and carbon fibre sliders.
Lighting
Lighting training across courses aligns with industry trends, focusing on modular systems and sustainability.
Students work with Aputure and Aputure Amaran LED lighting systems, complemented by a range of industry-standard tungsten fixtures, including Dedos, Arri 650s, Arri 2K, and Kinos.
Stage 5 at our London campus is rigged with SUMOSPACE lights, which are highly regarded within the film and television industry.
Sound
Our sound equipment includes the Zoom H6, and students on accredited courses will get advanced training with Sound Devices’ MixPre 6ii.
Mic systems range from RODE NTG3 and MKH416 to Sennheiser G3 RX/TX systems.
Post Production
Our grading and editing suites provide an excellent environment for creative work, featuring high-performance workstations and colour-accurate grading monitors.
The suites support Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid, and DaVinci Resolve, allowing us to conform, edit, and finish to the highest standards.
The Sound suite is fully equipped for editing, recording, and mixing, with a dedicated voice-over booth.
Our specialist grading theatre is fitted with a high-gamut digital projector and grading monitors capable of supporting HDR workflows.
Production Services
Our Production Facilities team provides a range of cameras, lighting, and sound equipment to support student projects.
Experienced industry lecturers and advisors guide students in selecting the most suitable resources for diverse platforms, including film, television, and new media.

Advanced Software Tools
You’ll have access to a comprehensive suite of software, including:
- Game engines: Unreal Engine 5 and Unity for developing 2D and 3D projects
- 3D design: Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, and SideFX Houdini for modelling, rigging, and visual effects
- Creative suite: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Substance 3D Painter, and Designer)
- Programming: Visual Studio for coding and scripting

Learning Space
The Learning Space is a dedicated study space at our Ealing Studios campus, where students can come together to study, collaborate with friends, and access library resources. Resources and support from the Learning Space Officer are also available both in-person and online.
Library Catalogues
London students have access to the Paul Hamlyn Library in the main University of West London campus. Through the University of West London, students can also access an additional one million eBooks through the Perlego EBook Collection.
As well as this, MetFilm School provides access to subject-specific e-libraries and streaming services, including:
