“As a film school with some 18,000 students and graduates with 6 campuses across the UK, Ireland and Germany, we are proud to support the London Critics Circle Film Awards. The reason we sponsor the Philip French Breakthrough British / Irish Filmmaker Award is because your stories, your successes inspire our students and graduates, and your journeys in film and television provide role models, benchmarks, and reference points to help them plot out their next steps. The nominees for this award are already inspiring. Congratulations to all the nominees.” Jonny Persey, Director MetFilm School
A Night to Celebrate Cinema
The 2025 Critics’ Circle Awards saw The Brutalist take home Film of the Year, while Marianne Jean-Baptiste (The Old Oak) and Ralph Fiennes (The Menu) received Actress and Actor of the Year awards, respectively.
Another major highlight was the presentation of The Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film to Daniel Craig, recognising his decades of contributions to cinema, from independent dramas to his iconic role as James Bond.
