BAFTA Scholarship available for MetFilm School’s MA Directing Students

We are delighted to share that students who enrol on our MA Directing course, as well as MA Cinematography, MA Post-Production, MA Producing and MA Screenwriting, now have the opportunity to apply for a prestigious BAFTA Scholarship. This year, two awards will be reserved specifically for aspiring directors.
Delivered in partnership with BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), this scholarship programme supports emerging talent in the screen and film industries. It provides a generous support package for individuals set to begin their studies in September 2025.
What the scholarship includes:
- Up to £12,000 towards postgraduate course fees
- An industry mentor from BAFTA’s huge professional network
- Access to BAFTA events and other learning opportunities throughout the year
This is the first time BAFTA has introduced scholarships specifically for directors, marking an exciting and potentially game-changing moment for aspiring filmmakers. In order to be eligible, applicants must be UK nationals or have Refugee Status. They must also have a full year of study remaining on their course.
Applications are open now and will close on Wednesday 28 May 2025.
